Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Badal was among the thousands of enthusiasts who performed yoga at a session in a Punjab town on Sunday to mark International Yoga Day.
Badal along with state Health Minister Surjit Kumar Jyani were present at the state-level function in Fazilka town, while state cabinet ministers were among those who attended the second state-level function in the Sikh holy city of Amritsar.
In both the towns, thousands of locals, NCC cadets and government officials joined yoga sessions.
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Saturday took a dig at the opposition Congress for giving a political colour to International Yoga Day.
"The event should not be given any political or religious colour," he said in Amritsar.
