Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday ordered action against two builders and former managements of two co-operative housing societies on account of delayed construction.

The builders include Emaar MGF Ltd and A N Buildwell Pvt Ltd. The others are Sunhera Apna Ghar Co-operative Housing Society and Ram Shanti Group Housing Society of Gurgaon.

Manohar Lal took the decision after presiding over the monthly meeting of District Grievances Committee here.

A total of 22 complaints were put up before the Chief Minister, out of which a majority were resolved on the spot.

He said he wanted to find amicable solutions to problems of house buyers who had been suffering at the hands of builders.

He was told that an Emaar MGF Palm Hills was launched in March 2010 in Sector 77 in which 1,100 apartments in 65 towers were to be constructed by Emaar MGF Pvt Ltd.

The builder had promised to complete construction in 36 months but even after taking 90 to 98 percent of the cost the possession of flats were not been handed over to the buyers.

The chief minister asked the builder to pay compensation for the delay.

Ever since Manohar Lal has started presiding over the monthly meeting of District Grievances Committee, strict decisions have been taken against the builders who had been harassing the buyers for years.

In his very first meeting he ordered action against Unitech.

The chief minister also passed orders to initiate action against former managements of the two co-operative group housing societies for delayed construction and related issues.

Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh, Haryana PWD Minister Rao Narbir Singh, MLAs Umesh Aggarwal, Tejpal Tanwar and Bimla Chaudhary, Divisional Commissioner D. Suresh and Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk attended the meeting.
