A Haryana Police constable was arrested for trying to snatch a car from a Gurgaon resident, police said Monday.
Constable Bhupinder, posted at Rajendra Park police station, was arrested for trying to snatch the car from Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Gagga Vihar.
Pradeep Kumar, who has a shop near the Daulatabad flyover, was returning home Nov 28, when Bhupinder - then not in police uniform - and his friend Bijander stopped him and tried to snatch his car.
Commissioner of Police Navdeep Singh ordered an inquiry after Pradeep Kumar filed a complaint.
Police found the incident to be true after an inquiry, an official told IANS.
Bijander is on the run, while the constable has been suspended, police said Monday.
The constable threatened Pradeep Kumar with severe police action if the car was not handed over to him, police said.
