Haryana Police on Saturday launched a "Student Police Cadet" programme here under which students will be enrolled in activities that will inculcate respect for law and community skills.
ADGP (CID) Shatrujeet Kapoor launched the programme in six schools, including government and private.
The project was first initiated in Kerala in 2010. Over 11,000 students, both boys and girls, were trained under the drive.
The idea is to mould youth to respect and abide by the law, practice civic sense, democratic behaviour and selfless service to society.
The programme includes outdoor physical training, indoor training in classrooms, field visits and projects involving practical training and camping.
