The Delhi High Court on Thursday declined a plea seeking a CBI probe into foreign funds received by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), allegedly in violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice RS Endlaw dismissed the public interest litigation filed by advocate ML Sharma against Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, and other AAP leaders.
Earlier, the central government told the court that the previous government had investigated the issue but nothing was found against the AAP.
Sharma claimed: "It has been revealed that lakhs of phone calls from Dubai and other countries have been made to Delhi, especially to the Muslim community, for supporting AAP's election."
The plea named Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and advocates Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan and said AAP members were funded by the Central Intelligence Agency through companies and trusts.
