Heat wave conditions continued in Telangana on Wednesday even as some areas received rains, providing some respite to the people.

Ramagundam, which sizzled at a maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius, was again the hottest place in Telangana.

Except Hyderabad, which was slightly better at 40.4 degrees, all other places in the state recorded maximum temperatures between 42 and 43 degrees.

According to the Met office, most places in the state are likely to record maximum temperatures between 40 and 44 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Some places received rainfall (1-4 cm) since Tuesday, slightly bringing down the temperature to give some respite to the people from the heat.

Hyderabad and some districts have been receiving light rainfall over the last couple of days.

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said the upper air trough from Vidharbha to Comorin across Telangana was persisting.

Thunderstorms accompanied with squall/hail was likely at isolated places in all districts, it said in the forecast till Thursday.

It also forecast light to moderate rain/thundershowers at a few places.

The heat wave has claimed 219 lives in Telangana so far this season.
