Actor Hugh Jackman has been roped in to headline Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's upcoming production venture "Apostle Paul".
Jackman will play the titular role of a Jewish man who converted to Christianity to preach the word of Jesus and was credited for writing 14 of the 27 books of the New Testament, reports deadline.com.
Damon and Affleck are producing the faith-based movie for Warner Bros. The script is written by Matt Cook, and a director as well as a release date are yet to be announced for the film.
Jackman, 46, recently released his new movie "Chappie", a sci-fier directed by Neill Blomkamp.
He will next play Blackbeard in Joe Wright's "Pan" which focused on the origin story of Peter Pan and Captain Hook. He is also set to reprise his mutant character in "The Wolverine 3" due March 3, 2017, marking his final appearance in the "X-Men" franchise.
