I-League: Bengaluru eye top spot (Preview)

On a roll with two back-to-back wins, Bengaluru FC will aim to propel themselves to the top of the I-League table when they face Sporting Clube de Goa here on Sunday.

Bengaluru are just a point adrift of league leaders Mohun Bagan and they would look to grab all three points and which would put the defending champions under huge pressure.

After losing out to Mohun Bagan in a high-voltage game, Bengaluru beat Aizwal FC in both home and away ties and head into the encounter full of confidence.

Sporting too will be boosted by the fact that they held Bagan to a 1-1 stalemate in their last contest. Another thing they will take to heart is the fact that Nigerian striker Okolie Odafa is a force to reckon with at their home ground. He is one of those rare forwards who can score when his team is in dire need of a goal.

Loveday Enyinnaya has manned the defence well and it will be a challenge for Bengaluru to break them.

However, Bengaluru coach Ashley Westwood will depend on the likes of Sunil Chhetri and Kim Song-Yong to have a go at the rival defenders and both players have scored consistently this season.
