Mumbai FC held defending champions Mohun Bagan to goalless draw in an I-League clash at the Cooperage stadium here on Wednesday.

After the draw, Mohun Bagan stay in third position with 11 points from five games, having won three and drawn two, while Mumbai remain in fourth spot with nine points from six games, won two, drawn three and lost one.

The hosts made three changes to their starting XI - Ashutosh Mehta, Taisuke Matsugae and Malemnganba Meitei making way for Anwar Ali, N.P. Pradeep and Allan Dias.

The Kolkata-based club made two changes of their own with Cornell Glen and Bikramjit Singh returning to the first team in place of Prabir Das and Souvik Chakrabarti.

The home side enjoyed a good possession in the first half but failed to take the lead. On the other hand, missing a couple of chances, Mohun Bagan too went into the break with 0-0 score line.

Soon after the break, the visitors got a chance to break the deadlock and take the lead but the golden chance was missed as Katsumi Yusa struck the ball wide of the Mumbai goalkeeper.

But some good defence by Mumbai, saw them hold the heavy weight club from Kolkata to a goalless draw.

Next up, Mumbai will take on Sporting Clube de Goa on February 14 while Mohun Bagan will face Bengaluru FC on February 13.
