IMG-R are set to launch their new football tournament -- Indian Super League.
The championship will foster local talent and feature international stars and will feature eight city-based teams. The league will kick-off in January and will run through March.
"Football, with its largely untapped potential in the country, has the opportunity to grow to an unrivalled commercial success quite unlike any other sport. We hope the growing football footprint will pave the way for the nation's sporting renaissance," IMG-Reliance chairperson Nita Ambani said.
The Indian Super League will be a franchise-based eight-team tournament styled on the Indian Premier League (IPL).
