India is not perturbed over Pakistan-China cooperation through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Indian envoy said.

"India is not perturbed over Pakistan-China cooperation through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) rather stable Pakistan is in favour of India which wants to achieve its high economic growth with the help of regional stability," said Raghavan in Lahore on Tuesday.

Dawn quoted Indian High Commissioner T.C.A. Raghavan as saying that a lack of trust between Pakistan and India is the major hurdle in resolving core issues such as Kashmir and maintaining lasting peace.

At the event organised by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (Pildat), he said that "the successful continuation of the Indus Water Treaty between the two states indicates the possibilities of settling down core disputes".

The title of the talk was: Prospects of mutual learning on governance and development between Pakistan and India.

He said the position held by India and Pakistan on core issues of Kashmir, ceasefire violations along the Line of Control "was not a new thing".

Raghavan expressed confidence in the abilities of politicians from both sides "to address those differences".

Answering a question by one of the participants, he said though the Pakistani media had reported that their authorities had evidence of Indian agency RAW's involvement in Balochistan and Karachi, he had not seen any such evidence, the media report said.

He emphasised that terrorism was a central factor in both countries and "there should be greater understanding of the Indian point of view in Pakistan".

Raghavan said there was a lot the countries could learn from each other such as the proactive use of the Right to Information Law, eradication of polio and so on.
