Experienced Indian defender Mehrajuddin Wadoo has joined Chennaiyin FC for the upcoming second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL).
Wadoo, who had turned out FC Pune City last year, was picked up by Chennaiyin FC from the open market.
The 31-year-old is looking forward to representing Chennaiyin, which is coached by former Italian World Cup winner Marco Materazzi.
"Chennaiyin FC is a very good team. At one point of time they seemed like they would be champions but unfortunately they missed out in the semi-finals," Wadoo was quoted as saying by Goal.com.
Wadoo praised the Chennaiyin defence for their performance last season, picking out former Paris Saint-Germain player Bernard Mendy for special mention.
"All of the players are great. You know how we scored the goals. Mendy too was very good in defense. I'm very excited to play with such great players," the former Mohun Bagan player, who had turned out for Bharat FC in last season's I-League, remarked.
Talking about his experience in the inaugural edition of the ISL, he said,"It was a great experience. I got to play with players I always dreamed of. I always learned some good things from them."
