An Indian-origin man appeared in a British magistrate's court Monday in connection with the alleged murder of a 48-year-old man.
Surjit Singh Sidhu, 48, from Huddersfield in Britain's West Yorkshire, was arrested Friday and subsequently charged with the murder of Martin Ackroyd whose body was found in his flat, the Huddersfield Examiner reported Monday.
However, no pleas were entered Monday.
Sidhu will appear Wednesday at Leeds Crown Court for another hearing, the report stated.
The victim, who was living at the flat for four months, was discovered dead by the police.
Earlier, a 30-year-old woman suspect was also arrested for the murder but was later released on bail.
