Bollywood actress and style icon Bipasha Basu added an oomph factor to the ongoing India Resortwear Fashion Week (IRFW) 2013 by flaunting a short black cocktail dress for her friend Nandita Mahtani's show here.

The actress, who wore a black sequined cocktail dress, sat in the front row to support Mahtani, who showcased a chic and stylish resortwear line at the ongoing fashion gala here Friday.

For the upcoming holiday season, the designer showcased her new cocktail and resort collection in a melange of pastel hues such as coral, green, yellow, pink as well as different shades of white.

The silhouettes of the line vary from structured kaftans, kimono style dresses, classic cut one-shoulder dresses, tube dresses as well as colour blocking dresses.

Glamour and sophistication being the focal point of her collection, Mahtani incorporated aesthetic mesh, bead, shibori and sequence embroidery with her silhouettes to lend a chic appeal.

"My aim is to translate exquisite Indian embroideries into contemporary cuts, creating garments that are feminine, stylish and wearable," said the designer, who has styled many Bollywood celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Tabu.

Apart from Bipasha, many of the designer's friends and clients were present to cheer the designer. Some names included Shraddha Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Haseena Jethmalani.
