Sydney, April 13 (IANS/EFE) A group of alleged Islamic State (IS) supporters hacked the website of Hobart international airport on the Australian island of Tasmania and posted a message of support for the jihadis, media reported on Monday.
The website was shut down early Sunday morning after police -- who said the post did not threaten the airport or its flight operations -- first became aware of it.
"Investigations have shown that identical messages have appeared on thousands of websites worldwide since late 2014," said a statement from Tasmanian police cited by the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper.
The message posted on the website, which remained closed on Monday, can still be found at other sites on the internet.
