Italian man held for beating up partner after hospital visit

Rome, Aug 7 (IANS/AKI) A 44-year-old man was arrested here on Monday when he visited his girlfriend in hospital, where she was receiving treatment after he allegedly beat her up, police said.

The man, referred to as T.C., was taken to prison, where he faces charges of domestic violence, after his Romanian girlfriend reported the beating to hospital doctors.

The woman had been admitted to hospital a year ago with similar injuries but on that occasion told doctors she fell down the stairs, police said.
