Three snatchers who used to target women have been arrested here, police said on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police A.K.Singla said that the accused used to snatch bags and mobile phones from women travelling in autos, waiting near bus stops or walking on pavements during the afternoon hours.
"They usually committed the snatchings on highways like ring roads of Delhi, Pushta Road, NH-24, DND Road, Mathura Road and GT Road," the officer said.
Police identified the accused as Rahul Kumar, 27, of Delhi and Imran, 23, and Zahid, 25 -- both residents of Loni in Uttar Pradesh.
Singla said that the accused were arrested from Maujpur in north Delhi on Friday.
The officer said that three pistols, six live cartridges, 18 snatched mobile phones and one motorcycle were recovered from the three and added that 44 cases have been worked out.
