itel Mobile, part of Chinese mobile manufacturer Transsion Holdings achieved four-fold growth in its mobile shipments in the third quarter of 2016, the company said on Thursday.
According to a report by market research firms Cyber Media Research (CMR), the brand was ranked sixth among feature phone brands in the country in the third quarter and has secured nearly two per cent of the overall market share since its launch in April.
"The exponential growth that we've witnessed since our entry in India has directly been driven by the massive consumer demand for our high-quality, feature-driven, value-plus offerings," said Sudhir Kumar, CEO, itel Mobile, in a statement.
The company has sold more than 6.5 million handsets so far.
