Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra on Wednesday summoned the session of the state's bicameral legislature on January 2, an official statement said.
Vohra has summoned the state legislative assembly and the legislative council to meet at the new secretariat premises here on January 2, when he will address a combined sitting of members of both houses, said the statement from the Governor's Office.
"After the said address, each house of the legislature will meet as a separate body at the time to be specified by the respective presiding officers," it said, adding the announcement followed the Governor's nod to the Mehbooba Mufti-led state government's proposal in this regard on Wednesday.
