Spanish La Liga club Real Betis on Thursday announced the signing of Japanese international midfielder Takashi Inui.
At a press conference at the Spanish embassy here, Inui told reporters that he was "very happy and looking forward to showing that on the pitch", according to the club's website, reports Efe.
The 30-year-old acknowledged that as this was likely to be his last contract as a professional he had chosen his new club carefully, committing to Betis for three years due to the team's style of play.
The midfielder, who shone for the Samurai Blue at the World Cup in Russia, pledged to take his new club "as high as possible".
Inui, who will don the number 14 in Seville, joins from fellow Spanish club SD Eibar on a free transfer after his contract expired after three years.
