England footballer Jermaine Jenas has announced his retirement after the 32-year-old failed to recover from a knee injury.
In an interview with BBC on Thursday, Jenas said: "I have officially retired, I tried my best to come back from the knee injury but unfortunately that is the end of my career."
Jenas played his last game with Queens Park Rangers in April 2014 but could not make it back from his knee injury he sustained and he went on to work as an analyst with BBC.
The former player earned 21 caps with England's national team, and played for four seasons with Newcastle United before moving to Tottenham Hotspur, then on loan to Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, before finishing his career with QPR.
