Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung on Saturday greeted people of the national capital on the occasion of Diwali.
"May this year's Diwali bring happiness to all our people and may the festival of lights illuminate every household and become a source of joy and contentment for all," Jung said in a message.
Jung said that Diwali symbolises the victory of good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.
Calling for a pollution free Diwali, Jung urged the citizens of Delhi to observe necessary precautions, especially with regard to children.
He also urged people to celebrate Diwali as a festival of light in its true spirit.
