Juventus midfielder Emre Can has successfully undergone throat surgery to treat a thyroid nodule, the Italian football club said Monday.
The German international, who joined the Serie A defending champion from Liverpool over the summer, was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule on October 21, reports Efe.
"The prognosis for the resumption of physical activity will be better assessed in the coming days," Juve confirmed on its official website.
The injury prevented Can from appearing in the recent Serie A matches against Genoa and Empoli, as well as the UEFA Champions League group stage clash with Manchester United.
Before the diagnosis, Can participated in all Juventus games, starting in four matches and appearing in the second half six times.
