Kamal Nath to contest from Chhindwara Assembly seat

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, who is not a member of the state legislature, will contest the Chhindwara Assembly by-election, the Congress announced on Thursday.

Kamal Nath, the Lok Sabha member from Chhindwara, took oath as the Chief Minister on December 17 and has to be elected to the Assembly within six months.

Congress legislator Deepak Saxena resigned from the Assembly to allow Kamal Nath to contest the by-election in Chhindwara on April 29.
