Actor-filmmaker Ragava Lawrencce's Tamil horror comedy "Kanchana 2", which recently completed a 50-day run in cinemas, has grossed over Rs.100 crore at the box office worldwide.
"It's the first blockbuster of this year in Tamil cinema. It has done phenomenal business by collecting Rs.108 crore at the ticket window worldwide. It continues to run to packed house in select theatres across Tamil Nadu," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
Said to be made on a budget of Rs.17 crore, "Kanchana 2" has also turned out to be the most successful venture for all its stakeholders, going by the return on investment.
Lawrencce, who played the lead in the film, also helmed it. Nitya Menon and Taapsee Pannu played the leading ladies.
According to Lawrencce, "Kanchana 3" is currently in scripting stage.
