Actor Karan Mehra, who has directed his wife and actress Nisha Rawal in songs like "Tu bin bataye" and "Choti si asha", now hopes to direct "Diya Aur Baati Hum" fame actress Deepika Singh.
"I'd love to direct Deepika, who plays Sandhya in 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'. She's a great actress and an extremely good friend too. I've already directed two music albums for my wife Nisha," Karan said in a statement.
"Direction is more of a hobby that I am enjoying but I have to say that acting is my first love as it comes naturally to me, having acted for 13 years," added Karan, who is currently seen as Naitik Singhannia in the Star Plus show "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai".
Karan has worked as an assistant director to Bollywood directors like Rajkumar Hirani and Ram Gopal Verma.
