The airport here was shut on Tuesday following a massive earthquake that shook Nepal.
Officials said that Air Traffic Control (ATC) personnel ran down the tall tower as it began to shake after a 7.3 magnitude earthquake jolted Nepal.
Annapurna Post Editor Yubraj Ghimire said his ninth floor office building began to shake violently and everybody rushed down in panic.
He said that soon the streets filled up with people who looked at the swaying building in awe and fear.
Reports coming from Dolakha district said several buildings had collapsed, but it could not be immediately verifiable.
Ghimire said that police vehicles and ambulances were soon on the roads, and so were other civilian vehicles rushing to meet their family members.
