Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has been allowed to stay in the government flat allotted to him in Delhi till July 31.

The public works department (PWD) of the Delhi government granted him permission after the Aam Aadmi Party leader said he would like to stay in the same home as his daughter's examinations were to begin soon.

A letter issued March 21 by Special Secretary (PWD) R.C. Meena to Kejriwal, a copy of which is with IANS, said Kejriwal has been allowed to stay in the flat at C-2/23, Tilak Lane up to July 31.

The AAP chief shifted to the Tilak Lane house with his family from a rented house in Ghaziabad after he became then Delhi chief minister.

As per the market rate, Kejriwal would pay Rs.84,825 per month as house rent.
