A session of the Kerala assembly would be held from November 30 till December 17, Speaker N. Sakthan said on Friday.
He said he hoped that legislators would behave and act as responsible members of the legislature during the forthcoming session.
"There is a desired level of decorum that members have to show. I am quite sure all of them know their duties and responsibilities and the way they should conduct themselves in the house," Sakthan told reporters while announcing the dates of the assembly session.
Responding to queries on incidents during the budget session early this year, when pandemonium broke out in the house, he said, "The crime branch of Kerala Police are probing the incidents that occurred on the floor of the house on March 13."
Legislators of the Left opposition had allegedly ransacked the speaker's podium and threw his chair away while protesting the presentation of the state Budget by the then finance minister K.M. Mani, who is embroiled in the bar scam controversy.
The coming assembly session also wuld not be a smooth affair as the Left opposition is now gunning for Excise Minister K. Babu in the bar bribery scam, after the resignation of Mani over the issue this month.
The Left Democratic Front (LDF) proposes to hold a march to the state assembly on November 30, the first day of the session, to demand Babu's resignation.
Sakthan called an all-party meeting this week and sought the cooperation of all political parties to ensure smooth functioning of the assembly session.
