Actor Kevin James is in negotiations to star as a 44-year-old athlete in the football drama "44".
In the film, James will portray Joey Williams, a father of four who played for the Lambuth University football team in 2003 alongside his 21-year-old son, reports variety.com.
Williams had been recruited out of high school to play football at Tennessee Tech but injured his left knee during his senior season.
The film is backed by Alcon Entertainment, producer of "The Blind Side". "Heaven Is for Real" screenwriter Christopher Parker will write its script.
