RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's son, Tejashwi Yadav has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention in resolving the ongoing row over the aptitude test in the civil service entrance examination.
In a letter dated July 27, Tejashwi Yadav, who is leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal's (RJD) youth wing, appealed to the government to consider the demands of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirants for scrapping the Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT).
The letter was shared by Lalu Prasad on his Twitter account Tuesday.
"It seems to be a conspiracy against students from the economically-weaker sections, especially the Hindi-speaking ones from northern India, to keep them away from the civil services examination," Tejaswi Yadav said in the letter.
"My party and I appeal to you (Modi) to not treat the students as criminals and meet their demands at an earliest," he added.
UPSC students have been protesting in the national capital against the CSAT implementation in the civil services examination calling it discriminatory against those from the humanities and Hindi background.
