A young male leopard was killed Saturday when a speeding vehicle hit him on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway here, an official said.
The accident took place near Manesar Polytechnic institute.
"The leopard was hit by a vehicle on the back but managed to move in the bushes around 20 meters from the road. He died after a few hours," said Rakesh Yadav, a resident of nearby Sahravan village.
A wildlife employee told IANS: "It was the biggest and healthiest leopard I saw in my life in Gurgaon." The body of the leopard was sent for postmortem.
It was the seventh leopard death in the Aravali foothills this year.
