The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day following protests over communal riots in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar, BJP members raising the purportedly illegal land deals of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and the Telangana issue.
As question hour began in the Lok Sabha, some members started protesting over communal violence in Kishtwar.
Amdist the chaos, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Yashwant Sinha stood up and began attacking Vadra without naming him.
"We have a number of good business schools in the world over as well in the country, which teach private businessmen how to earn crores (of rupees). But in our country we have a very well connected person who hasn't gone to B-school but has made crores," he said.
His statement invited protests from the treasury benches.
As chaos prevailed, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the house till noon.
The scene was the same when the house reconvened and it was adjourned till 2 pm.
Later, even after an all-party meet -- which extended from noon till 2.15 p.m. -- agreed to let the house run and debate the food security bill, the house saw two adjournments - first till 3 p.m. and then for another hour - after it met at 2.30 p.m. till it was finally adjourned for the day.
These disruptions were caused as Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and a section of Congress members protested noisily against the proposed creation of Telangana.
Food Minister K.V. Thomas tried but could not make his opening remarks on the food security bill.
