British actress Lynda Bellingham has been diagnosed with cancer and has cancelled her work commitments to undergo treatment.
The 65-year-old was expected to go on a tour in Britain in September as part of the play "A Passionate Woman" cast, but has cancelled the plans, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"I'm devastated not to be able to honour my commitments to the play this year. But having toured many times before, I'm aware of the sheer stamina needed and I need to prioritise my recovery," Bellingham said in a statement.
However, the actress is sure that she will recover from the illness and join work again.
"That said, nothing's going to stop me coming back next year, and I can't wait to be 'A Passionate Woman'," she said.
Bellingham is best known for her role as Helen Herriot in BBC drama "All Creatures Great and Small".
