French tennis player Nicolas Mahut won the ATP World Tour tournament in Rosmalen, the Netherlands, for the third time on Monday.
The final of the grass court event could not be finished on Sunday due to heavy rain and was completed from the start of the second set on Monday. The eighth-seeded Mahut defeated seventh seed Gilles Muller of Luxembourg 6-4, 6-4, reports Xinhua.
With his win the 34-year-old Mahut defended his title, which he also won in 2013. He claimed his fourth individual ATP tournament win in total, after his victory in Newport, United States, in 2013, also on grass.
On Sunday CoCo Vandeweghe overcame Kristina Mladenovic to win the WTA women's tournament in Rosmalen. After several rain delays the player from the United States, who also won the title in 2014, beat her opponent from France 7-5, 7-5.
The Dutch grass event is one of the preparation tournaments for the 2016 Wimbledon Championships, to be staged in London from June 27 to July 10.
