The national capital woke up to a cloudy Sunday morning as the minimum temperature settled one notch above the season's average at 28.8 degrees Celsius, the weather office said.

"Very light rain or thundershowers are likely to occur towards the afternoon or evening," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The humidity level at 8.30am was recorded at 74 per cent.

According to the weather office, the maximum and minimum temperature are likely to hover around 36 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees celsius respectively.

Saturday's maximum temperature settled at 36.8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
