A man was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a female passenger inside a compartment of the Doon Express but was later released on bail by a court in West Bengal, officials said.
According to a press statement issued by Eastern Railway, the 30-year-old man was nabbed by police after a female passenger hailing from Kolkata pulled the chain at Bandel station in Hooghly district.
The woman in her complaint to the Government Railway Police alleged that the man used abusive language against her.
Charged with outraging the modesty of a woman, the man was presented before a court which granted him bail.
"The case did not warrant the imposition of Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code, and so the court granted him bail," said a counsel.
