A man was arrested in Rajasthan's Alwar district Friday for biting off his wife's nose and ears and beating her up on suspicion that she was having an extra-marital affair, said police.
The incident occurred Thursday night in Nagalia village near Bhiwadi town.
"A 26-year-old woman, was rushed to hospital by her neighbours when she came out of her house screaming for help late yesterday (Thursday) night. The woman's ears and nose had literally been been bitten off," said the officer.
The woman's husband has been arrested.
