Man held for attempting to rape daughter-in-law

A 52-year-old man was arrested here for attempting to rape his widowed daughter-in-law, police said Friday.

The accused has been identified as Lekhram of Badshahpur area here.

"The accused's wife supported her daughter-in-law and came to the police station with her to lodge a complaint," Ramchander, the station house officer of Badshahpur police station, told IANS.

The accused was trying molest her for the last two months and on Thursday night, he tried to rape her, he said.

The accused was Friday sent to jail under judicial custody.

The woman, a mother of three girls, became a widow two years ago.
