The union cabinet Thursday approved setting up of Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFILMS), along with a 500-bed general hospital, a 300-bed super-specialty hospital, a nursing college and a paramedics school at the cost of Rs.1,366 crore, said a statement.
The institute, to come up at Delhi, will facilitate attraction of talented professionals in the central armed police forces and their retention, besides providing in-house training/ specialization/post-graduate/super-specialty post graduate courses to in-service health care professionals.
