Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar Friday met the five-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted by her neighbours April 15 while being held captive and starved for two days, a statement said.
The horrific incident had taken place in East Delhi's Gandhi Nagar area.
Kumar enquired about the girl's well-being and progress from her parents. After giving some gifts to the child, she assured her parents that every assistance would be provided to them for her speedy recovery and subsequent rehabilitation.
The speaker had visited the child on April 21 at AIIMS and had given Rs.2 lakh from her discretionary grant to the parents of the child for her treatment and other expenses.
