Mercury dips after showers in Delhi, Friday to be cloudy

With the capital experiencing sharp showers in the morning, the mercury witnessed a slight fall on Thursday with the maximum temperature settling three notches below the season's average at 27.5 degrees Celsius. Friday will have cloudy weather.

"There would be shallow fog on Friday morning while the sky would remain partly cloudy throughout the day," an India Meteorological Department official said.

The maximum and minimum temperatures on Friday are likely to hover around 29 and 19 degrees Celsius, respectively, the official said.

Thursday's minimum temperature was recorded five notches above the season's average at 19.7 degrees Celsius.

The city received 1 mm of rain till 6 p.m., while the maximum humidity was recorded at 91 percent.

Wednesday's maximum temperature was recorded at the season's average at 31.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 17.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
