Striker Javier Hernandez helped Mexico beat Honduras 2-0 in a football friendly.

The game, played in Mexico's southern state of Chiapas, Friday night saw Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, who plays for Spain's Real Madrid, on loan from England's Manchester United, open the scoring, reports Xinhua.

Oswaldo Alanis put the result beyond any doubt with a 36th minute strike to double Mexico's lead.

Honduras failed to hit back and pose any real challenge and return home empty handed.

"Chicharo knocked the door down with a bang," the sports daily Record said.

"That's how the team got the job done against Honduras in Chiapas."
