Two minor girls were raped by their neighbours in two separate incidents in the national capital, police said Sunday.
An eight-year-old girl was raped by a 58-year-old unemployed man, who lured her to his house in central Delhi's Turkman Gate area Saturday evening.
The girl informed her parents about the incident. The parents took her to a hospital, where the rape was confirmed during the medical examination.
Police said they arrested Zulfikar, the accused, from his home.
In another case, a 24-year-old man raped a girl, 14, when she was alone at her home in east Delhi's Madhu Vihar area Saturday morning.
The girl told police that the man, identified as Roshan Ali, had threatened her of dire consequences if she disclosed about the incident to anyone.
