Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condoled the death of Dileep Singh Bhuria, the Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Madhya Pradesh.
"In the passing away of Dileep Singh Bhuria, we have lost a veteran political leader who did immense work for tribal communities," the prime minister said in a statement.
"Bhuria had years of legislative experience, both in Madhya Pradesh and at the national level, which was his major asset. My thoughts are with the family of Shri Bhuria during this hour of grief. May his soul rest in peace," Modi added.
The 71-year-old Bhuria, Lok Sabha member from Ratlam-Jhabua constituency in Madhya Pradesh, died in the morning at a private hospital in Gurgaon following a heart attack on June 6. He is survived by wife, two sons and four daughters.
Born on June 19, 1944, Bhuria, a six time MP, was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1980.
