Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed his visit to Mongolia as "historic, path-breaking and one that will take India's ties with Mongolia to spectacular heights" as he left for South Korea on the third and final leg of his three-nation tour.

Modi tweeted: "I leave Mongolia with great joy. My visit was historic, pathbreaking & one that will take India's ties with Mongolia to spectacular heights."

"My deepest gratitude to the people of Mongolia. I carry back wonderful memories of your Nation, a land that is our spiritual neighbour."

Modi also tweeted the same message in the Mongolian language script.

On Sunday, Modi held talks with Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and Prime Minister Chimed Saikhanbileg in the State Palace. He announced a $1 billion Line of Credit to Mongolia for its infrastructure projects, and both sides inked 13 agreements.

Modi will spend two days in South Korea.

After arrival in Seoul, Modi is to lay a wreath at the Seoul National Cemetery. He would attend a reception by the Indian community, during which 1,500 members are to be present.

He will be accorded an official welcome after which he will hold talks with President Park Geun-hye. A number of agreements are to be inked. Both leaders will make press statements.

President Park will host a banquet in honour of the Indian prime minister in the evening.

On Tuesday, Modi and Park are to attend the 6th Asian Leadership Conference in Seoul, being organized by the Chosun Ilbo group. Later, Modi will visit the Cheonggyecheon Stream, that has been cleaned up, and is a model for such projects. The city mayor and a South Korean minister will accompany Modi. He will also visit a photo exhibition.

Modi will attend a business event and also an India-Republic of Korea CEOs Forum. President Park will be present.

He will later meet top CEOs of Korean companies. There will be an interaction with Friends of India in South Korea.

Modi will then visit the Hyundai shipbuilding yard at Ulsan.

He will depart for home.
