Myanmar President-elect U Htin Kyaw will submit a list of nominees for cabinet posts to the Union Parliament on Thursday for approval, the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) announced on Monday.
The party has finalised the process of selecting persons for the ministerial posts in the cabinet and the positions of chief ministers in regions and states, NLD spokesperson Zaw Myint Maung said.
Some members of the former ruling party, the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), will also be appointed as ministers, Xinhua news agency reported.
Meanwhile, U Htin Kyaw is due to make a speech in the parliament on Monday clarifying his proposal of new government formation submitted last week.
According to the proposal, 21 ministries will be formed and 18 ministers named, a cut from 36 and 32 respectively in the outgoing government.
