Nepal quake: One dead in Indian embassy in Kathmandu

The daughter of an employee of the Indian embassy in Kathmandu died in the massive earthquake in Nepal, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Saturday.
"A house in our embassy complex collapsed. Unfortunately, the daughter of our employee Madan has died. His wife's condition is serious," she tweeted.
Briefing the media here, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar said: "There is severe damage in Kathmandu and beyond. Indian embassy has some damage."
He said one person died and one was seriously injured.
As many as 500 people were killed in the earthquake that rocked Nepal on Saturday, a Nepali official said here.
