Leicester city goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is set to join striker Jamie Vardy as the club's highest-paid footballer as he has been reportedly offered a five-year 100,000 pounds ($1,33,174) per week contract.
The 2015-16 English Premier League (EPL) winner is close to agreeing the financial deal that kept Vardy at the club, although the former Manchester City goalkeeper has been offered a five-year contract compared to Vardy's four, according to dailymail.co.uk.
Leicester head coach Claudio Ranieri, despite losing midfielder N'Golo Kante to Chelsea this summer, is looking to keep hold of the star players who secured a memorable top-flight title triumph last season.
Schmeichel, son of Manchester United legend Peter, kept 15 clean sheets as the Foxes stunned the football world to win the EPL.
The 29-year-old Denmark custodian has two years left of his current contract.
