In a welcome change, none of the newly-elected Delhi legislators have declared heinous criminal cases like murder, attempt to murder or crimes against women this time, according to the National Election Watch.
Of the 70 legislators, 24 (34 percent) have declared criminal cases against themselves, according to think tank ADR.
While 23 (34 percent) Aam Aadmi Party legislators out of 67 have declared criminal cases, one (33 percent) out of three Bharatiya Janata Party legislators have declared criminal cases.
Compared to this, of the 70 legislators elected in 2013, 25 (36 percent) had declared criminal cases against them, and in the 2008 elections, 29 (43 percent) of 68 legislators analysed had declared criminal cases, ADR said.
Among those who lost were 91 candidates with criminal cases, including 60 candidates with serious criminal cases like murder, attempt to murder and crimes against women.
As far as money power was concerned, of the 70 newly-elected legislators, 44 (63 percent) are crorepatis, compared to 51 (73 percent) in 2013.
The average vote share of all newly-elected legislators was 55 percent.
Fifty-five out of 70 legislators had a vote share of 50 percent or more.
AAP's Sandeep Kumar from Sultanpur won with the highest margin of 56 percent votes.
